SUPPORTING KAUAI COUNTY LIFEGUARDS SINCE 2003
This winter season, the Ocean Safety Bureau would like to remind everyone that ocean conditions can change quickly, especially when powerful north and west swells arrive and create strong surf and dangerous rip currents. For the safest beach day, they encourage the public to swim at lifeguarded beaches, keep a close eye on keiki, and check conditions before entering the water. If anyone is unsure, they recommend asking a lifeguard and choosing caution, because no swim is worth the risk. Ocean Safety Officer Chad Listman shares a few reminders to stay safe at the beach this winter season.
