KLA Announces Second Wave of Fundraising

It’s official, the Kauai Lifeguard Association is ramping up for a Second Wave of fundraising after the tremendous success of last year’s KLA First Wave Celebration. The second wave begins to swell in April and will culminate in a KLA Second Wave Celebration on October 7, 2012 at Kilohana Plantation.

The funds raised by the non-profit KLA in this 2nd Wave will benefit a variety of ocean safety programs on Kauai — all with the aim to help save lives!  This KLA Ohana of recipients include:

  • Kauai Explorer — kiosk displays on ten public beaches
  • Kauai Keiki and Junior Lifeguard Program
  • Wave Project
  • Rescue Tube Foundation
  • Swim Clubs: Mokihana Aquatics and Swim Kauai Aquatics
  • Hawaii Surfing Federation (HSF)
  • Ocean Safety Video
  • Na Pali Stand Up Paddleboard Race
  • Garden Island Canoe Racing Association (GICRA)
  • Kauai Ocean Recreation Experience (KORE)
