KLA Installs First Beach Safety Sign

The Kauai Lifeguard Association (KLA) installed the first Beach Safety Sign on the sands near the public showers next to the Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club. This is the first of thirty signs to be located on the beaches of Kauai.

The next two signs are scheduled for Kalapaki Beach in Nawiliwili. Each sign costs about $2,500 and is unique to its location and will provide valuable information about ocean conditions and safety for residents and visitors alike.

According to KLA president, Dr. Monty Downs, the funds for these signs come from the generous donations to the KLA by individuals and sponsors.
